NAME hosts an annual conference each year, themed around a particular subject area. On these pages you will find details of previous conferences, alongside archive material, presentations and where available in future, rich media - sound or video. Conference reports will be posted on these pages and details of the 2010 Conference will appear here over the coming months.

18 September 2009 - 20 September 2009

NAME's annual conference took place at York University from 18-20 September.

The theme was Musical Development and our keynote speakers were: 

  • Lincoln Abbotts
  • Tony Knight
  • Katherine Zeserson

The three-day conference included a range of exciting breakout sessions, and offered a chance to learn, refresh, discover new ideas, make new contacts and meet up with colleagues. A conference report will be available online soon.

1 July 2009

The AST Conference took place on Wednesday 1st July 2009 at the Royal College of Music. This was the seventh year that Music ASTs were invited to attend a conference specifically planned for them.
The National Association of Music Educators (NAME) organised the conference with funding from the Department of Children, Schools and Families ((DCSF)).
