The DaCapo approach has evolved over twenty years. The result is a
very successful programme which introduces children to music through
relative solfa, movement and a carefully planned progression using and
adapting materials to suit the needs and interest of the children.
DaCapo offers music partnerships and/or school music projects, either
providing the music teaching or working alongside school staff to
equip them with the skills and confidence to deliver creative, quality
wholesale music themselves. The students gain musical insight and proficiency, the staff have the opportunity for career development and musical exploration and the
school enjoys all the positive social benefits and transferable skills
that flow from quality music teaching.
The organization in 2010 is about to start a new venture called DaCapo Electric, a
parallel course that will use relative solfa and movement as the teaching tools but using amplified instruments and drums to play 'Electric' music from Pop to Jazz as opposed to a more folk and classical based repertoire.
