Group Membership

Open to groups of 3 or more named individuals working for the same organisation or team.

All individual group members:

  • Receive the members’ discounts on NAME publications and any other membership offers (such as those provided from time to time by corporate members)
  • Qualify for the members’ reduced fee for the NAME annual national conference
  • Have access to the members-only section of the NAME website and can take part in online forums etc
  • Can participate in NAME’s focus and specialist interest groups and regional groups
  • Receive link to Postbag, NAME's quarterly newsletter published online

The group receives one copy of NAME Magazine (published three times a year) and any other free publications for every full subscription paid (see the membership rates table below).

Membership runs from 1 January for 12 months. If you apply during the last three months of the year, these months are included in your group’s first year of membership -  ie you get up to three months free!

Please note:

  • Your application must be endorsed by the institution, organisation or team to which you belong
  • There is no upper limit to the number of individuals in a group but you must state the number on your application
  • The group or supporting organisation will be responsible for informing NAME of any changes of membership and for confirming the group membership annually when membership is renewed
  • Anyone leaving the institution, organisation or team would cease to be a member of NAME, though they are welcome to rejoin as an individual or as part of another group

Membership rates

Group membership rates are based on a formula.   Please note that reduced first year rates do not apply for group membership.

For groups of Benefits
up to 5 people 1 x full individual subscription at the rate of the salary of the highest earning group member plus two-thirds of the standard individual rate for each additional person
6 – 9 people 2 x full individual subscriptions at the rate of the two highest earning group members plus two-thirds of the standard individual rate for each additional person
10 or more people 3 x full individual subscriptions at the rate of the three highest earning group members plus two-thirds of the standard individual rate for each additional person

2011 standard membership rates are:

How to join

  1. Complete the Application for group membership form, including:
    • the details of your group’s main contact (this is the person to whom all NAME correspondence will be sent on behalf of your group).
    • the cost of your group subscription. We can invoice your organisation but do please make sure you include a purchase order number if your employer requires one
    • your organisation’s endorsement.
    • completed forms for each member of the group.
