With its attempt to define creativity through ‘Scale Points’ might the EYFSP Handbook be repeating the old mistake of promoting only the assessable – that which is easily observable – and ignoring aspects of creativity which are not so easily defined? Is there an unquantifiable aspect to creativity to which we respond instinctively rather than through words – responses honed over thousands years?
