Enter now for Classic FM's Music Teacher of the Year Award

Entries are now being accepted for Classic FM's annual competition which recognises and rewards the nation's most inspirational music teachers. Winning teachers will each receive thousands of pounds worth of music software from Avid Sibelius and musical instruments and equipment from Yamaha for their schools. There are six categories: Primary school teachers, Secondary school teachers, Peripatetic teachers, Special education needs teachers, Newly qualified teachers and a Lifetime Achievement award.

The National Centre for Early Music (NCEM) announces 2010 Composer Award

Continuing their succesful partnership with BBC Radio 3 and the Internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble The Tallis Scholars, The National Centre for  Early Music announces their 2010 NCEM Composers Award. This major national award is open to composers up to the age of 25 and is divided into two age categories: 18 and under, and 19-25. Applicants are invited to compose a new a cappella (unaccompanied) piece for Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass.
