Arts Council England (ACE) has commissioned a review of the contribution of Arts Council funded organisations to music opportunities for children and young people. Burns Owen Partnership last year undertook a piece of research to help ACE establish a clear overview of the contribution that the Arts Council's funded organisations make to music opportunities for children and young people in England.

Review of music education in Wales

I've been asked to write an article or news item about music education in Wales - in particular, the review that the Assembly Government have commissioned. I wondered if any members in Wales have any further information about this - or would be happy for me to contact them to discuss music education in Wales generally?I've contacted the Assembly press office but they have no further information, although I know the review was due to be published in March and has been delayed.

Recording Songs And Accompaniments Using Audacity

A music course for non specialist primary teachers and TAs will take place on Tuesday 20 April 2010at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington - 9.30am - 3.30pm.During this day participants will become familiar with the key features of the sound editor programme Audacity, develop skills for recording song and simple accompaniments and create a multimedia project making use of Photostory.
